A Real Kiwi Experience with iTrek New Zealand
George Scott – Director and Adventure Advisor
A genuine ‘man of the land’ George has farmed all his life in the South Island and has an enduring passion for exploring the outdoors and sharing it with others.
For the last three decades he has sought out and enjoyed many of New Zealand’s tracks with one of his highlights being guided to the top of Mt Aspiring near Lake Wanaka.
He has hiked extensively in Austria, Italy, China and Nepal as well as travelling with his wife Mary through Asia, Europe and Australia.
His farming expertise and commitment to sustainable practice was recognised when he was awarded the Sir Peter Elworthy Environmental Award for deer farming.
Mary Scott - Director and Adventure Advisor
Passionately involved in early childhood education, family and farming, Mary has accompanied George on many of his travels but usually prefers to indulge her interests in art, literature, live theatre and wine.
Needless to say, she has an ideal role to play as an advisor to the non-hiking partners! Along with raising their own family, George and Mary have hosted a number of AFS students as well as farm trainees from around the world.
They look forward to hosting you at their Wanaka home and treating you to a BBQ of locally sourced food accompanied by Central Otago wine
